Cowley and Barlow Lees (3rd February 2026)
With sleet forecast for later in the day and muddy conditions everywhere I was surprised but delighted to see that twenty eight of us were prepared to endure the conditions. We met at St Andrew’s Community Church, many of use taking advantage of a hot drink at the Mums and Toddler Group before setting off.

Unstone Green and Grasscroft Wood (24th January 2026)
Nineteen walkers met on Carlisle Close on a chilly but fine morning. After doing a recce, our walk leader Dave, found that some of the footpaths on his intended walk were very slippery so he opted to go for a completely different walk that encircled the new Peak Resort site instead. Twenty two walkers met in the Hyde Park Inn car park on a grey morning with an improving weather forecast predicted. We set off along Hilltop road heading for the golf course. We took the track leading us through the golf course and on to Monk Wood, crossing the by-pass via the curly bridge. As

Chesterfield Canal and The Trans Pennine Trail (13th January 2025)
Eighteen walkers met in the car park close to the Hollingwood hub. The skies were grey and light showers were forecast. Linear Walk to Graves Park (2nd December 2025)
It’s hard to predict the popularity of linear walks that use public transport for one of their legs so twenty two walkers and one dog was an excellent turnout for Richard and Phoebe’s walk. We started out on Half Acre Lane and took the path leading to the roundabout at the end of Callywhite Lane.
