The best way to report an issue with a footpath, for example a fallen tree, a broken stile or overgrown vegetation, is to use Derbyshire County Council’s online form. If you would rather use an alternative contact method the details are:
- Phone: Call Derbyshire at 01629 533190
- Text: 86555
- Postal Address:
Derbyshire County Council,
County Hall,
Matlock,
Derbyshire,
DE4 3AG
If you are happy to use the on-line form, the best starting point is the Derbyshire County Council Rights of Way Portal
Under the heading Rights of way enquiries, click on the purple button Make an enquiry about a promoted route or report a problem
On the next page you are given the chance to sign up for an account, Login (if you already have an account) or continue without an account. If you create an account your contact details are saved, making it quicker to complete forms in the future.
After you have logged in or continued without an account you are taken to a page titled Public rights of way which summarizes the type of things that you can report. Click Next to start the process of reporting the issue. The next few pages prompt you to enter all the details about the issue.
