Who would have thought that only a fifteen minute car journey could take us to a lovely area that many of us had not walked in? Well, as it happens fifteen walkers and one dog did.
The first part of the the walk took us through Whinfell Quarry Gardens. We then took lovely county paths leading us to the Porter Valley Woodlands Nature Reserve and then following the Porter Brook until we reached our lunch time destination, the Forge Dam Cafe. After walking along Clough Lane we took a left turn towards Ringinglow and the Norfolk Arms pub. From there we followed the woodland path through the Limb Valley back to our cars.
