Twenty two walkers with five dogs between them met close to the dog agility field in Bakewell in readiness for one of Paula’s annual walks from Bakewell.
We joined the Monsal trail close to its start and continued on to the old Bakewell railway station. The trail was fairly busy and as always we had to be alert to passing bikes. When we reached the site of the old Hassop station we decamped into two groups, those of us who wanted drinks and food from the cafe and others who had brought their own packed lunch. After we had feasted on cake and butties we rejoined the trail but soon took a left turn that took us across fields towards Bakewell. The finish of the walk was by the side of the river Wye.
On reaching the main bridge some of our group headed to the shops and eateries whilst the rest followed Paula back to where our cars were parked.
