Twenty one walkers met outside the Wesleyan Reform Church on Cross Lane in readiness for Adrian’s walk. Just before we started Adrian explained that he had changed the route to avoid a particularly muddy section that he had come across during his recce.
For the first part of the walk we followed the Dronfield Hall Barn Rotary walk down Pighills Lane up to the B6057, crossing over the road by the Toby Inn. Continuing on the round walk we took the footpath leading to Bowshaw farm but rather than continue all the way to Dore and Totley Golf course we took another right turn towards Greenhill. At the end of a narrow footpath we reached Greenhill park which we walked round until we reached the play area. This served as a nice spot for our coffee break.
Feeling suitably refreshed we completed the circuit of the park and re-traced our steps all the way back to our start point.
Because of Adrian’s re-routing we missed most of the mud.
Thanks to Adrian for leading us round. It was also a lovely cold, crisp morning, quite different to the weather we have been having recently.
