Ringinglow and Burbage Moor (1st October 2025)

Here’s what Graham had to say about Paula’s walk.

Today’s walk saw Paula lead a party of eight on a revised route to her original after two recces on the two previous days. She decided on a five mile alternative which took in Sheephill Road, Lady Canning’s Plantation and out onto Burbage Moor.  As we passed the Ox Stones the light rain at the start had stopped but it was still quite foggy on the moor as we made our way towards Burbage Edge.

Once on the edge the fog started to clear and we managed to get some views of Higger Tor, Carl Wark, Owler Tor and Toad’s Mouth.  We had our coffee stop at a cairn on the main edge path before taking a left fork over to Houndkirk Road. It was then fairly easy walking along here all the way back to Ringinglow and The Norfolk Arms where three of us called in for some “refreshments”. A nice walk despite the fog, which took in some paths that most hadn’t walked before.

Thanks very much to Paula for leading the walk and supplying the photos. It’s nice to see the dogs getting their share of the limelight.

Here are a couple of photos from the walk and some from the reccy where the visibility was better.
