Eleven walkers met outside the Barrel Inn at Bretton looking forward to a walk in classic Peak District countryside. Here’s a summary of the route that was kindly provided by Graham.
The route was anti-clockwise. Back along Sir William Hill Road, then left passing Jubilee, Big Moor and Gotherage Plantations, long descent to Stoke Ford (Coffee Stop), up to Oaks Farm, valley side to lunch stop overlooking Abney Village, Cockey Farm, Bretton Clough, Nether Bretton and back to the Barrel Inn.
It was a brilliant walk, glorious weather, a bit challenging in places but with stunning views throughout.
Many thanks to Martin for leading the walk.
