Old Whittington and the Peak Resort (12th June 2025)

Sixteen walkers and two dogs met outside the Revolution House in Old Whittington. The forecast for the evening had threatened thunderstorms but they didn’t seem likely as we set off towards Grasscroft Wood.

The walk took us past the masts at Hundall and down into Ramshaw Wood. Passing under the impressive viaduct is always a delight and we followed the footpath all the way to the new Peak Resort riverside path. The last leg of the walk took us over the railway line and across fields back to our start point.

Many of us popped into the Cock and Magpie for some post walk refreshment. Many thanks to Phil for leading us round this lovely walk.
