Twenty three walkers and one dog assembled outside the Jolly Farmer ready for the walk.
The first part of the walk took us along Ashford Road and into Kitchen Wood. Heading across fields we took a path on the left to eventually meet up with Cowley Lane. We walked along Cowley Lane for a short distance and took a footpath on the right heading for Great Brind Wood. We skirted the wood taking the footpath which runs alongside a bridleway.
Continuing on we walked along the woodland track towards Barlow Fishing Ponds but rather than take the downhill track towards the ponds we instead turned steeply uphill. As Paula our leader pointed out it is not often that our group has done this. Soon we were at Barlow Lees and then Cowley Lane which we walked along almost to the point where we initially crossed over. We took the turning just before Cowley Hall which eventually brought us out on to Gosforth Drive via Teletubby Land.
At this point some of the group who had walked to the start point turned right, heading for central Dronfield and beyond. The remainder continued the short walk back to the cars.
Many thanks to Paula for leading us on this lovely walk. Sorry, only the one photo taken tonight.
