Despite an unspectacular weather forecast, there was a good turnout of members waiting outside the Wesleyan Reform Church.
The first part of the walk followed the route of the Dronfield Hall Barn Round Walk across fields and into Cook Spring Wood. We took the steps up the bank just before entering Dowey Lumb and entered Newfield Spring Wood at its bottom end. The gate and sheltered area at the other end of the wood was an excellent place for our coffee stop.
Rather than take the direct route to Hazelbarrow farm we took an uphill path through fields before dropping down to the farm. This made a nice change to the usual route. Our return journey took us through Long Wood and Nor Wood and then through houses, emerging onto Eckington Road opposite Stone Road. As we completed the walk we thanked Adrian for leading us on a lovely walk in surprisingly nice weather.
