Bakewell Circular (3rd September 2024)

Eleven walkers and one dog joined Paula for the second of two walks that she has led in the Bakewell area.

A good portion of the walk was along the Monsal Trail which we joined by taking a path across the field and then following Coombs Road. The trail was quite busy as usual with a collection of bikers enjoying the last throws of the school holidays. Our mid-morning break was a stop at Hasop station cafe. This is a lovely spot to enjoy a drink and a snack. I had a millionaire flapjack – very nice and enough for two people.

We left the trail via a path on the left which took us all the way back to Bakewell, emerging by the bridge in the centre of the town. Here we split into two groups, those that were heading back to the cars and those that wanted to prolong their stay in Bakewell.

This was another great walk in the countryside around Bakewell. Long may they continue. Thanks to Paula for leading us round.
