Eleven walkers met up in the Holmesfield Village Hall car park on an overcast but pleasant Saturday morning. The walk was led by Hilary & Ann and here’s a nice summary of the route provided by Graham who was on the walk.
The Route was Holmesfield Park Wood, Fanshawe Gate Lane, Moorwood Lane, below Totley Moss and Blackamoor Nature Reserve. The Lunch stop was the same place that we have used for our Dawn Chorus walk. This was followed by a lovely stretch through woodland at the bottom end of Blackamoor. Then on to Strawberry Lee Lane, Penny Lane (Beatles connection?) and past The Cricket Inn. The last section of the walk was up the cobbled church path to Totley, across Baslow Road, past Totley Hall (for sale at the moment), through Gillfield Wood, behind Woodthorpe Hall and back to the village hall via Holmesfield Park Wood.
Hilary and Ann were thanked for a really nice walk with sunny intervals throughout.
