On an important day for the nation, twenty two people elected to go on Richard’s walk from The Hyde Park Inn (see what I did there).
Before starting, Richard gathered us together and told us about any potential hazards on the walk after which we set off down Cowley Lane. After this short section of road walking we took the path that passes Hills farm and continued through fields to once again meet Cowley Lane, just below the mission.
We crossed the lane and continued on, heading gradually downhill to Lees Common. Here Richard warned us about an overgrown section that we needed to take care on. After making our way through Monk Wood and over the curly bridge we could see Hallows Golf course on the other side of the fence. We were shielded from the course by a layer of trees so there was no problem with stray golf balls.
After continuing a little further along a good track we reached urbanisation in the form of Hill Top road. From here it was just a short trip back to the cars.
Quite a few of us called in at the pub for a drink and listened to quiz. We answered the questions in our head and did particularly well on the music questions, until they played anything later that 1987.
Many thanks to Richard for leading us round.
