Round Walk Tidy Up (28th May 2024)

Despite some rain and a poor forecast, ten hardy souls armed with all manner of gardening tools met on Barnes Lane ready for the annual tidy up of our section of the Dronfield Barn Rotary Walk.

With rain predicted for late morning we decided to restrict our efforts to the stretch of the track that runs up to Rod Moor Road. The wet conditions made it difficult to cut back the long grass but we were able to remove overhanding branches and brambles.

We completed most of what we set out to do and were contemplating having a look at the other side of Barnes Lane that overlooks the golf course when the rain arrived. This was our cue to gather up our tools and head back to our cars.

We will arrange another session to finish the job, perhaps sometime next week.

Many thanks to all who attended today.
