Summer Walks Programme

Today marked the start of our Summer Walks Programme. Historically, the last walk on the spring programme is also the first walk on the summer programme.

As usual, most of the walks will be in the Dronfield area but in the same vein as last year, we have some locations that are a little further afield, for example Fox House, The Hardwick Estate and Bakewell. Most walks are in the 4 to 6 mile category with the occasional longer walk if you fancy something a little more strenuous.

Our next walk, on Sunday 5th, is one of our regular themed walks. Starting at 4:30 am, it’s a Dawn Chorus walk, done in conjunction with the Dronfield Natural History Society. It will only be a couple of miles with lots of stops to listen to the birds and swap notes on what we have seen and heard. The compensation for the early start is an optional breakfast at the Toby Inn at Bowshaw. We will be there around 8 am.

Our programme of evening walks starts on Thursday 9th May with “Golf Anyone”. You won’t get to play but we will be passing Dore and Totley golf course and the Moor View Golf Centre.

You can see our full programme of walks by choosing Walks from the main menu and then clicking on Walks Calendar from the sub-menu. To see more detail about a walk, click on the Show Details link. If you prefer to view a printable version of the programme, again choose Walks from the main menu but this time click on the Walk Calendars as PDFs link. The summer programme is at the top of the list.

If you have any questions about the programme of walks or our group in general, please check our FAQ section on this website. If your query isn’t covered there, please email admin@dronfieldfootpaths.org.uk and we will do our best to help.
