Cutthorpe and Linacre Reservoirs (9th December 2023)

Four hardy members of our group turned out for the walk which started in Barlow. Although the weather was very inhospitable the group decided they wanted to go ahead with the walk.

The initial part of the walk through fields to Linacre Woods confirmed suspicions that the going would be very wet and muddy, so a well earned break was taken in the woods. The walk then took a path that left the woods, through several fields, striding over a swollen stream and coming out at Pratthall. The next part of the walk was along Oaks Lane down the side of the former Gate Inn to reach Commonside just above the land slip which caused it’s closure and then back to the start point.

The weather improved after a while but reverted to more rain at the end.

Many thanks to David for leading the walk in such poor weather. Hopefully you will be able to lead it again in the summer!
