Twenty two walkers and a puppy met in the rear car park at the Peacock Inn at Cutthorpe for a walk to Linacre reservoirs and on to Old Brampton.
The first part of the walk took us through the woods to Linacre reservoirs where we walked alongside the middle reservoir and circled the upper reservoir. We saw plenty of waterfowl including some beautiful mandarin ducks. The second half of the walk, mainly through fields, led us to the village of old Brampton and its historic church. A church, in some form, has been on the site since the 1100s. You can read more about its history here
Within half an hour we were back at the Peacock in, reflecting on how enjoyable the walk had been. Many thanks to Joe for leading us.
