Tidying up our section of the Barn Rotary Walk

On the 30th May, fourteen of us gathered on Barnes Lane to tidy the section of the Barn Rotary Walk that our group maintains. It runs from Rod Moor Road through to Bowshaw. This was an opportunity to use the hedge trimmers and strimmers that our group was able to buy using money from a Derbyshire County Council grant. We concentrated on the area local to Barnes Lane and we were able to trim overhanging branches and cut down vegetation, chiefly cow parsley, that was encroaching on the footpath. We would like to arrange a further session to complete the work but there was a noticeable improvement in the area that we worked on.

Many thanks to everyone who took part. Here are before and after pictures taken by Joe
