Yet another glorious Spring day attracted nineteen walkers who gathered opposite the old Riverside garden centre (now Markovitz kitchen and bathrooms). After crossing the railway line we carried on across fields, eventually reaching St Bartholomew’s church at Old Whittington. The next part of the walk followed the Drone Valley Way up to Grasscroft Wood where the pace quickened in a race to secure a place on the bench for our coffee stop. This was the first time I had been on Clive’s traditional Easter walk and I was pleased to see that Judy had continued her tradition of handing out chocolates to all the walkers. Our next target was the hamlet of West Handley where we were a little too early to see the annual vintage tractor parade. From here we headed back to Unstone via Hundall and Ramshaw Wood.
Thanks to Clive for a very enjoyable walk.
