Millthorpe and Barlow Grange (27th September 2022)

Walk Report / Tuesday 27th September 2022

Walk leaders: Steve & Ros Sadler

On a bright and sunny morning with blue skies, 9 folk plus a dog set off from Millthorpe on a 4½ mile walk. We crossed the road down Mill Lane and over the ford before heading across the fields to Unthank. Reaching the lane we then turned off to Meekfield Wood and Moorhall. Conditions were good underfoot as we continued towards Barlow Grange soon stopping for a coffee break with clear views all around. On reaching Grange Lane we had a short section of road walking before turning back towards Crowhole Reservoir and Rumbling Street. There was a lovely stretch of wild flowers on this final leg back to Millthorpe which were much admired and before long we were re-crossing the ford and back at the cars. An enjoyable walk on a perfect walking day since the chance of a shower never materialised!
